No time for words! We paint!
Oh, and we also now have a podcast!

STAGE 1 – Choose your base colour. I chose black.
STAGE 2 – Mix base colour with white 50/50 and paint on in a fairly messy fashion.
STAGE 3 – With pure white, follow the centre of the thick lines more neatly.
Easy-peasy.
…and with it comes a bucketload of new projects on the desks of Precinct Omega Studios. But first, let’s look at some stuff that we finished this month:
I painted this Warrior Priest from Avatars of War for one of my favourite clients:
Meanwhile, Rob Skene has done fabulous work on our Saint Celestine conversion:
But the mills of the gods continue to grind out yet more miniature goodness. These two Exorcists have been painted by Rob to tabletop standard, but I’m giving them a final lick or two of paint before sending them on to their owner:
And I’m getting to grips with one of the new Sanguinary Guard plastic kits from Games Workshop’s Blood Angels range, turning them into a Vanguard Veteran Squad for a Red Scorpions army:
But there’s so much more to come! In fact, May and June promise to be Precinct Omega’s busiest months ever, with more space marines, Reaper miniatures, Heresy miniatures, Warhammer and even some stuff from Forgeworld passing across our crowded desks. If you’ve already been on our homepage at http://precinctomega.co.uk, you’ll have seen our latest sneak peeks, but here’s something else to whet your appetite:
Last of all, Precinct Omega Studios is planning to hit the road! Starting next year, we’re coming to a wargaming convention near you to do live painting, showing off our favourite work and talking with whoever will listen about some exciting new projects! We’re starting out at Hammerhead. If you have a local event you’d like us to attend, be sure to drop us a line.
A client for whom I painted a Grey Knights army last year has asked me to add a couple of Storm Trooper squads, a pair of Valks and a Commissar Lord to the army. Here’re the first three:

I’ve often mentioned that I like to speed-paint. Well, I really put my skills to the test this week, when I volunteered to help out at the Gloucester Association for the Deaf Family Fun Day. I originally offered to play. Then I offered to bring a small Ork army. Then I offered to donate the army for a raffle to raise money for the charity.
Then I remembered (on Wednesday afternoon, this week, with the event this morning, Saturday 10th April) that I hadn’t painted the army, yet. It was undercoated, and I’d painted, I think, three Ork boyz and, in that state, the army had sat for something like six months.
So this is what I managed to punch out in the in-between time and, I need to emphasize, I had Wednesday afternoon and Thursday from 0900 to 1600 in which to paint, then I was on childcare duties for Friday. So this represents about 12-14 hours of work, total.
I’ll let you know how much we raised!

LATEST NEWS…
First of all, this month, I’d like to draw your attention, once more, to our Work in Progress blog. We hope that our new gallery software will go live next month, so watch this space.
Second, our price rises are now in effect. It’s not a big change, and we still believe that Precinct Omega Studios offers the most competitive rates for bespoke miniature painting anywhere in the UK. Check out the Hordes for details.
Finally, before we get onto this month’s special offers, I’d like to mention that Precinct Omega also builds and paints terrain and fantasy/science-fiction props. We’re still working on a pricing scheme, so terrain and props are currently handled as Elites projects, with each project individually costed and assessed. But watch this space for more details!
APRIL SPECIAL OFFERS
With a new (financial) year comes new perspective and Precinct Omega is no exception. From April onwards, we will be offering a 10% discount on three armies, game systems or products every month. These discounts will apply before any volume discount, making it easy for you to work out in your head. For example, if a miniature would cost £4.00 to paint and is on special offer that month, it will be discounted by 40p, for a price of £3.60 per miniature instead. Obviously, if you then order a whole load of minis, you’ll also get your bulk discount on top of that.
This months Special Offers are:
1. BLOOD ANGELS. We love Games Workshop’s new Blood Angels minis, so our discount applies to any armies painted in the colours of the Blood Angels or any of its successor chapters.
2. WARMACHINE. Warmachine Mk2 is on the horizon. So get your warjacks ready for more mayhem!
3. REAPER MINIATURES. We’ve been painting a few Reaper minis lately and want to paint more.
To calculate your own estimate for painting production miniatures, see The Hordes!
For more information on our consultation sculpting/design service see The Elites!

I think this is a Reaper mini. A client sent it to me to paint for a birthday present for one of his gaming group.
Damn… I hope he doesn’t read this blog.
What am I talking about? No one reads this blog!
While I wait for Sky to connect my broadband, here’re some minis I’ve been working on lately:

These two are 15mm scale:

I went to Vapnartak, York’s annual wargaming convention, run by the York Wargames Society, and couldn’t resist picking up some of Hasslefree’s lovely Li’l Mystic Warrior figures. Here are the first three, painted purely for my own entertainment… and maybe for eBay, when they’re all done:

Teleporting in to augment a client’s Daemonhunters Army comes this superb squad of Grey Knight terminators from Paint-Thrall Rob Skene:
